They Promised Justice. Then They Ghosted Me

They Promised Justice. Then They Ghosted Me

How APPEAL Wasted Two Years of My Life with Lies, Silence, and Excuses.

For two and a half years, I held on to hope. Hope that someone out there, beyond the courts and corruption, still cared about justice. That someone would listen, read the evidence, and stand by the truth. That someone was supposed to be APPEAL — a UK organisation that claims to fight against miscarriages of justice.

But they didn’t fight for me. They barely even spoke to me.

Instead, they strung me along, reading my case, asking questions, giving the impression that help was coming. For two years, I waited. I believed. I survived with the thought that maybe, just maybe, the truth would matter to someone with power.

Then, when I finally confronted them with irrefutable facts, their response was blunt:

“We don’t have the money.”

No apology. No explanation for the silence. No recognition of the time and trust they burned. Just a cold dismissal.

This wasn’t just a refusal. It was a betrayal.

APPEAL isn’t just any organisation. They brand themselves as champions of the wrongfully convicted. They fundraise on the promise of justice. They speak at panels and publish articles claiming to stand with people like me. But when the truth was in front of them — raw, painful, and undeniable — they turned away.

This is not an attack. This is accountability.

In April 2025, I finally wrote to them directly. Here’s what I said:

“Despite submitting all the necessary documentation and reaching out for assistance, I have received no meaningful help or support. Instead, the organization has failed to address my concerns, citing a lack of funds as the reason for inaction.”

I signed off with a final plea:

“No one should have to endure such neglect, especially from a service meant to advocate for fairness and justice.”

I never received a proper reply.

I write this not only for myself, but for the countless others who reached out to APPEAL and were met with silence, excuses, or false hope. If they ignored you too, if they promised to care and then vanished, you’re not alone.

It’s time to name what’s broken — not just in courts, but in the systems claiming to fix them.

If you’ve been failed by APPEAL or any similar organisation, I invite you to speak out. You can share your experience at TruthReclaimed.org/contact or support the mission to expose every part of this injustice.

Because justice denied by silence is injustice twice delivered.
